CHAPTER 2

The air in the room was thick with the scent of sandalwood and burnt incense, a sweet, calming haze that did little to settle the frantic pulse in my veins.

โ€‹Standing there, I was a study in contrasts: outwardly calm beneath the high ceiling, yet a storm of questions raged inside. Why had Mr. Agnihothri brought Anvi and me here, to this quiet sanctuary where photo frames and indoor plants whispered tales of a life I didn't know?
